Years and years ago a read most of his poetry and many of his short stories. I remember loving it, especially his classic stories. I think I'd really enjoy revisiting the poetry... gotta dig that out...
Great imagery; am I detecting some class allusion in the architect being almost Pharonic (of the pharaohs? Is that a word?) versus the sort of mass housing he's designing?
It certainly got me thinking...I've already re-read it three times!
Definitely pharoanic imagery (and strangely taken from real life). As for class, yes, but purely incidentally! The poem is part of my digging down into the things underneath politics, rather than a direct comment on anything political. Even that feels like saying too much lol...
"And pencils bleeding sweetly at a drafting table…"
"The rain, the feral elegizing lunatics…"
You are one masterful wordsmith of an old soul old son. This is gorgeous stuff.
The photography complements it all perfectly.

Yes, I recognized it immediately! I think it has been in "black and white" in my mind's eye for a long time now. Great choice for this piece.
have you read borges' poetry (which I love) at all? quite a bit of this suggests him - especially that sword!
